Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
Introduction
Tile Theory helps contractors organize tile project information, selections, and project scope. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Tile Theory, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as when you create an account or fill out a project questionnaire, as well as basic technical information needed to operate the service.
Account Information
When you create a Tile Theory account, we collect your email address, a password (stored only as a secure hash), and optional company details such as your company name and Instagram handle. This information identifies your contractor account and powers your project workspace.
Google Sign-In
If you choose Google Sign-In, Tile Theory receives basic Google account information needed for authentication, such as your name, email address, and profile information associated with your Google account.
Tile Theory does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or any other unrelated Google services. We never read your email, browse your files, or access your calendar or contacts.
Google account information is used only to authenticate you, create or access your Tile Theory account, and identify the correct contractor account. You can disconnect Google Sign-In from your Google account settings at any time.
Project and Client Information
Contractors create projects that may include a client name, project label, address, and notes. When a client completes a questionnaire through a private link, their selections and answers are stored with that project and shown to the owning contractor.
Uploaded Content
Contractors may upload a company logo. Contractors and clients may add notes, selections, and other project details through the questionnaire. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for having permission to share any content you upload.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Build and display your project scope
- Notify the owning contractor when a client completes a questionnaire
- Identify and brand your contractor account on client-facing links
- Operate, secure, and improve Tile Theory
Service Providers
We use trusted providers for authentication, database storage, and email delivery. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
Data Security
We protect accounts with authentication and role-based access controls. Project and contractor data is scoped so that each contractor can only access their own projects. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable measures.
Data Retention
We retain your account and project information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data; we will remove it in accordance with our normal retention practices and legal obligations.
Your Choices
You can update your company name, Instagram handle, and logo in your account settings. You can sign out at any time. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
Tile Theory is intended for contractors and the clients they invite. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised date. Continued use of Tile Theory after a change means you accept the updated policy.
